Cellulitis is an infection of the lower layers of the skin caused by a bacterial infection. At first, the infected area will be red, swollen, warm and tender. As the infection spreads, you may experience chills, fever and swollen glands. Commonly occurring on the legs, face or arms. If condition is not treated, the bacteria can spread through the body and cause sepsis and if on the face, can spread to the brain and cause meningitis.
