About six decades back there were a number of all india and regional organizations and societies dealing with various disciplines of dermatology , venereology and leprology when the doyen of dermatology in India, Dr. R.N.Gupta of Lucknow. Then the President of Dermatology Society, India, took the initiative and united all the existing societies and associations under the banner of IADVL (Indian Association of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology).
This all india body has state branches and local branches.Till the partition of U.P into two states Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand the state branch was known as IADVL U.P. but even the partition of the state the state branch remained one, being called as IADVL UP & UK. This state branch holds its annual conference even year which is called as "Cuticon" .The state breanch of UP & UK is one of the most active state branches among all the branches in India. During these years as many as 36 state conferences have been organized in UP & UK. It as worth nothing with pride the names of many stalwarts who work hard to make the IADVL UP & UK such an honourable branch.

This year Cuticon UP/UK is being organized by the Kanpur branch in the beautiful hillstation Nainital on 2-4 November 2018 under the chairmanship of Dr. R.N. Gupta and the organizing secretary is Dr. Bhatia. These state conferences provide a good opportunity of social get together when most of the dermetalogists from UP & UK attend their families, the organizers offer a rich feast of academic material to update our knowledge and an opportunity of exchange of views and ideas.

Hello dear friends and respected seniors.
It is a matter of utmost pleasure and responsibility to take over as the President of IADVL UP-UK state branch. I thank each and every member of our state branch for reposing their faith in me and hope to stand up and even exceed their expectations of me.
During this year, we intend to streamline the academic and financial activities of the association. We intend to form a STATE IADVL ACADEMY to oversee the academic activities in the state and also to help the CUTICON organisers in preparing the scientific programme for the state conference.
Another issue that is close to our heart is the rampant quackery that is prevalent in the states. We plan to take up the issue legally and take the matter to a logical conclusion.
The state IADVL website is being handled well by the website management team of Dr Tarun Mittal and Dr Sumit Gupta and we plan to upgrade the same to include new features to find any dermatologist in the state.
I am sure with the strong support of dynamic executive members including Hon Secretary - Dr Sunil Gupta, Vice Presidents - Dr Rashmi Jindal and Dr Sujoy Ghosh, Hon Treasurer -Dr Amit Madan and Jt Secretaries - Dr Anurag and
Dr Vishal Agarwal , we shall be able to achieve our desired objectives and even outdo them.

I am deeply honored and privileged to stand before you today as the Honorable Secretary of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists (IADVL) Uttar Pradesh-Uttarakhand Chapter. It is with immense pleasure and a sense of responsibility that I address you, for it is in our collective hands to steer the course of our association towards greater heights and betterment.
Our esteemed association, dedicated to the field of dermatology, has always strived to be at the forefront of advancements and excellence in patient care, research, and professional development. With a legacy that spans years of commitment to the health and well-being of our patients, we have much to be proud of. However, the journey of progress is never-ending, and we must continually adapt and innovate to meet the evolving needs of our members and the community at large.
