Latisse has been FDA approved for the treatment of small or thin eyelash growth. When applied regularly on a daily basis, eyelashes can significantly appear longer, fuller and darker. Latisse works by prolonging the growth phase of the hair cycle of the eyelashes which is usually 1 to 2 months. Latisse is a prescription product which you apply yourself at home. The results will begin appearing at 4 to 8 weeks of continual use and full affects becoming evident at 16 weeks. If treatment stops, you can expect your lashes to return to their pretreatment appearance at 4 to 6 weeks after ending treatment. Maintenance treatments may be initiated after the continual 16 week regimen by applying the product every 2 to 3 days.
Prior to applying the product, wash your face and remove any makeup. Contacts should be removed. Using the special applicator, place a drop of the solution on the applicator and apply it to the base of the upper eyelid where the lash base meets the skin of the eyelid. Excess solution should be blotted off with a dry tissue. A fresh applicator should be used for each eyelid and never reused.

Rarely, there can be pigment changes of the colored part of the eye. This is rare and is only an issue in people with lighter colored eyes.
