About 90% of the hair is growing at any one time with the growth phase lasting about six years. Then goes through a resting cycle, forms a little white ball on the end and comes out which is then replaced by a new little hair. Losing 50 to 100 hairs per day is expected due to the normal hair cycle. However, some people may experience excessive (more than normal) hair loss. Hair loss of this type can affect men, women and children originating from many different causes such as hair treatments, medications, hormonal problems, pregnancy, infection, stress or may occur as part of an underlying disease such as lupus or diabetes.
Treatment Options: Hair loss takes time to diagnose and may require a change in lifestyle or medications and can possibly include topical treatments.
