Impetigo is a bacterial skin infection that causes red sores that can break open, ooze fluid and develop a yellow-brown crust anywhere on the body however most often around the mouth and nose. The sores are generally not painful, but may be itchy. Impetigo can occur at any age, but most common in children. It is contagious and can spread to others through close contact or by sharing towels, sheets, toys or clothing.
Treatment Options: Topical antibiotic and oral antibiotic.
