MESSAGE From President Elect

Dear Members,

IADVLUPUK
Dr Vibhor Kaushal

President Elect 2022-2023, IADVL
UP & UK state branch

We are all passing through unprecedented times. Life has suddenly thrown us into uncharted waters. On occasions, we are not very certain of how to go about handling situations.

We all are longing for “precedented” era. Alas! That is unlikely to happen, at least in the near future. Anyway, life must go on.

We were hopeful of having our annual meeting as a physical/hybrid event in Mussorriee in October 2020. The authorities in Uttarkhand have completely ruled it out. We have to proceed with a virtual meeting. The month remain the same. The executive council is working hard, going into the details of the virtual event. The attempt is to make it, as satisfying an event, as possible. The efforts and details would be shared by Dr Vibhor Kaushal, the honorary secretary of our society. It was our event.

Every dark cloud has a silver lining. The COVID 19 forced most of us to stay indoors longer hours, spend more time with our families, to read and write more. The number of publications from most centers in India has gone up. There has been a barrage of webinars. Creative arts likely poetry, music, dance and literature have regained greater importance in our lives. Whattsapp activity has increased exponentially. We held a virtual GBM for the first time in history. We were discussing e-voting for our elections for many years. Finally, the GBM approved e-voting for the elections of the various office bearers of the IADVL UPUK. Needless to say, that all of us must vote and exercise our franchise for further betterment of our society. The executive council decisions regarding the academic and social activities of our society are covered in detail in the remaining sections of this newsletter. All organizations are formed with one purpose. The aim is to foster co-operation , ultimately leading to a benefit for all. The good thing is that if we benefit, we contribute more to the betterment of society at large. I am happy that, in this entire year the sense of comraderie exhibited by all our members has been exemplary.

Long live our society!!
