Actinic Keratoses are scaly or crusty growth that arises on the skin surface due to repeated and prolonged sun exposure. Actinic keratoses are pre- cancerous, not skin cancers. Some may disappear on their own accord, but others may progress to skin cancer therefore treating Actinic Keratoses is recommended.
Treatment Options: Actinic keratosis may be destroyed by many techniques such as: freezing, topical medication, laser, PDT or surgical removal. The most side effects are burning, redness, scaly or blistering.
