Squamous Cell Carcinoma is the second most common skin cancer (after basal cell carcinoma) with more than 250,000 new cases every year. Squamous Cell Carcinoma most commonly occurs in areas of the body frequently exposed to the sun however may occur on all areas of the body. People who have fair skin, light hair and blue, green or grey eyes are at the highest risk of developing the disease. Squamous cell carcinomas are more frequently seen in men than in woman and more often in older people. It often appears as nodules, or as red, scaly patches of skin.

Treatment Options: Squamous cell is treated with surgical removal and has a high cure rate if detected early.
